I would like to take my boyfriend somewhere nice for his birthday in February(planning ahead)…he likes the blues so I was thinking if there was someplace nice to go in Chicago that is kind of quiet that plays live blues music that would be cool…hopefully a restaurant.Any ideas?
I know the house of blues, but they don't only have blues music and i want something a little smaller and more intimate.
Agree on Buddy Guy’s for blues and food, my favorite for sure. Another nice place north of the city in Evanston is Bill’s Blues, small and intimate. Lots of places to eat there too. Kingston Mines on Halsted St. is also a standout.

The House of Blues

B.L.U.E.S. on N. Halsted
Buddy Guy’s Legends (has good food)
Neither will be “quiet”! B.L.U.E.S. is tiny, so could be intimate.

It’s Chicago, isn’t there a blues place on every corner?
Honestly, hit up Buddy Guy’s Legends!

all these guys are right B.L.U.E.S. on Halstead and Buddy Guy’s are great. A couple Other places you might want to try are the Harlem Ave. Lounge and Fitzgerald’s. Both are in Berwyn. Harlem Ave. is a really small place they get less famous artists mostly but the cover is usually like 6 bucks. Fitzgerald’s is not officially a Blues club, they get all different kinds of music, but they are partnered with the Wishbone Restaurant which is amazing and is seriously the best place to see music in Chicago. You can usually find a couple of blues show per month there.
