I like jazz, but I hardly know enough about it; I am looking to expand my iTunes library.

i'm not big on jazz but wes montgomery has a lot of good songs ("a day in the life" and "polka dots and moon beams"), also charlie christian was a neat musician (get the album "genius of electric guitar" for good songs like "as long as i live" and "blues in b", my favorites). Django Rheinhardt is also very good.
All three artists have nothing but instrumentals (as far as i know) and are about as good and mainstream as jazz gets.

Don't know that much, really, so the one I know the best would be it, The Dave Brubeck Quartet's Take Five, with that legendary sax of Paul Desmond.

This is so corny but you asked. I love Kenny G's Duets album. A smooth saxophone makes me rowdy and frisky and then dreamy.

They are awesome
The flute solo from 'Anchorman'? Are you kidding me? Does this person have a 2-second attention span or what?
Most great jazz tunes are instrumental, I'm sure you realize that, right? Here are some starters:
So What - Miles Davis
Naima - John Coltrane
Stolen Moments - Oliver Nelson
Take Five - Dave Brubeck
Killer Joe - The Jazztet
Quintessence - Qunicy Jones and Orchestra (w/Phil Woods)
Milestones - Miles Davis
Giant Steps - John Coltrane
Moment's Notice - John Coltrane
Blue Trane - John Coltrane
All Blues - Miles Davis
Freddie Freeloader - Miles Davis
Maiden Voyage - Herbie Hancock
Dolphin Dance - Herbie Hancock
Footprints - Wayne Shorter
A Remark You Made - Weather Report
Birdland - Weather Report
Bill Evans - Waltz for Debby
As you are downloading some of these, the download provider usually displays another pagelet or column that says, "Other Listeners Liked…" with the names of other tunes that are in the genre. Use some of those as suggestions. Listen to them first and decide for yourself.
