    What a treat! It must have been awesome for these guys to be playing with Jimmy Heath, one of the architects of this music, a true legend..Gingerbread Boy, great tune. I think the band sounded good..I didn’t notice any weird vibes between the alto players…A little competitive battling but nothing obscene, to me.

    i hate when other players do that . they think they’re hot so they try to call you out. those are the ppl that make you want to punch them in the face or shove their instrument down their throats.

    It’s pretty clear …
    It’s pretty clear he’s trying to “carve” the other alto player, but the bearded guy was having none of it. He kept taking the line that was handed to him and twisting it into something that was going to be difficult to continue, like he was trying to railroad the poor guy. Not a very sporting thing to do to your own bandmate — save those sorts of shenanigans for when some random guy wants to sit in and thinks he can play!

    a comment that criticizes isn’t necessarily negative…it wasn’t attacking the playing, i think most of the guys had something important to say, they weren’t just talking .
