    KW isn’t on the …
    KW isn’t on the same cerebral level as JC. This is deeper art, and have difficulty calling pop layered vocal rhyming art…maybe Beasties from sheer audacity & Rubin (who probably is closer on a cerebral level to these cats). Rubin should was born 3 decades too late.

    In that case, i …
    In that case, i love eating dog poop.

    Its your opinion, but at the end of the day, i like John Coltrane, and Kanye West, i really wouldnt recommend totally denying a whole genre, or 1 artist, i personally didnt like David Bowie up until around 2 years ago, same with some rap, you get some good, and some bad. but the fact is that West is a very clever and in some cases he is very very good with his songs.

    though i would listen to a whole album in 1 sitting.

    I would not listen …
    I would not listen to an entire Kanye West CD, for the same reason I would not eat a pile of dog poop. I don’t need to eat the whole thing to understand that it tastes like shit.

    Kanye West is …
    Kanye West is actually pretty original. There weren’t and still aren’t too many rappers like him, especially lyrically. Please don’t talk about what you have no clue about, I bet you’ve never even listened to an entire Kanye album start to finish. You’re probably one of those whiny trolls who saw the VMA’s and hates him off of that alone. Get over it!

    How …

    @number1covers
    How is your jazz ORIGINAL and MODERN if your doing remakes of classic songs? That in itself is as original as kanye west. You are the kanye west of jazz, pat yourself on the back.

    No worries on …
    No worries on quoting me correctly, “Kiwichief47″. I’ve already moved on to a new thing, having mastered the saxophone in a few short months. I’m always moving forward so I’m kind of impervious to anything said in the past.

    I’m totally with you man. Music has no age. That is what is so amazing about it.
    There may have been a misunderstanding.
    I was quoting “number1saxophone’s” earlier post.
    (my sarcasm didn’t translate well into text I guess.)

    @Kwchief09

    this “old style” is amazing.I remember when i was 13 yo i was so impressed by Coltrane’s music, when all of my friends were listening to Rnb.This kind of play is full of deep emotions and i love it cause its so REAL.I am 25 yo now and it feels the same.

    I’m not sure where …
    I’m not sure where or when the idea of not listening to other music has helped any musician on any level, but I understand the idea of untainted expression that you are trying to represent. In the case of this video, even if you don’t understand “this old style stuff” you can certainly agree that a heavy musical idea is conveyed with a sense of style and intensity that we can all learn from. That is what sets ‘Trane and his various ensembles apart in the musical world.

    Hey “nocorners”. …
    Hey “nocorners”. When it comes to JAZZ we decided early on not to listen to other bands. We figured that would adversely affect the originality of our sound. I think that policy has served us well.

    You might not be ready for MODERN jazz anyway. Maybe you should check out our rock and pop songs here at “number1covers” instead. Most people say our versions of classic hits are even better than the originals (and they are probably right).
